No, Tak ja sa vám priznám, že jednorožce sú po vlkoch moje úplne najmilovanejšie fantastické stvorenia na svete, takže si na ich najrôznejších obrázkoch dávam naozaj dosť záležať. Napriek tomu sa mi nie vždy podarí zohnať iba samé nádherné obrázky, ale myslím si, že galéria jednorožcov je na tejto stránke celkom slušná. =D
Len málo čarovných tvorov zasiahlo ľudskú fantáziu tak, ako jednorožce. Jednorožce sú bájne zvery podobné antilopám, či koňom, charakteristické sú svojím rohom vyrastajúcim z čela. Sú považované za zosobnenie dobra, čistoty a panenstva. Ich domovmi sú lesy severnej Európy, často sa však vyskytujú aj v Ázii. Jednorožce sú bylinožravce živia sa prevažne trávou a mladými listami. Dĺžka ich života nebola nikdy presne zistená, ale je známe že presahuje hranicu 1000 rokov. Mláďatá jednorožcov sú asi do druhého roku svojho života zlaté, potom strieborné a až v dospelosti biele. Od mala sú veľmi dobrými bežcami a hovorí sa, že je nemožné ich chytiť za živa. Jednorožce sú veľmi plaché a vo všeobecnosti sa vyhýbajú kontaktu s človekom. Roh jednorožca, krv a vlasy majú silnú čarovnú moc predovšetkým zachrániť telo a dušu...
Jednorožce sa zjavujú už v starovekom umení a mýtoch, hlavne v oblasti Mezopotámie, Číny a Indie. Na mnohých stredovekých gobelínoch sú zobrazené scény s jednorožcami vyžarujúcimi silu a posvätnej oddanosti. V starom zákone nájdeme niekoľko zmienok o jednorožcoch: "Silný Boh ich vyviedol z Egypta, vládu má, ako vláda jednorožca" (Štvrtá kniha Mojžišova, 24, 8) "A jeho rohy budú ako rohy jednorožca, nimi bude drgať národy napospol až do končín zeme" ( Piata kniha Mojžišova, 33, 17)...
Súčasťou legiend o jednorožcoch bola vždy ich liečivá sila najme proti jedom.
Existujú vôbec jednorožce? Touto otázkou sa nezaoberali len v stredoveku ale mnohý vedci sa ňou zaoberajú doteraz. Aj keď sa nám jednorožce doteraz nepodarilo nájsť, ešte to neznamená, že nejestvujú, aj keď pri dnešnom poznaní prírody by sa dalo ťažko očakávať, že by na ne ešte nikto nenarazil...
